about
We, Slavalachians, the Ukrainian, Belarusian, and American folk alliance that believes in UNITY through shared music, cultural preservation and propagation, and a spirit of global community, stand firmly with my Ukrainian and Belarusian brothers and sisters. We demand to STOP THE WAR. We STAND WITH UKRAINE!
This is another song from our upcoming album, but awful Russian military aggression and real war forced us to release it earlier. This is an old-times Ukrainian song about a mother mourning the loss of her son to war.
We dedicate this song to Ukrainian Warriors who bravely fought for the freedom, their land, their nation, but left on a battlefield.
lyrics
Translation:
Cuckoo sang in the cherry orchard
The mother cried for her son on the yellow sand
She did not cry as she announced
Because her good son was taken to the soldiers
Go-go, my son, go, do not hesitate
Come home in one, two or four years
Oh, I would be glad, my mother, return home
But below me a raven horse stumbled on its hooves
When you'll hear, my mother, that I'm lying here
Give to my friend to wear my clothes
Oh, I'd better scatter it, my son, on the mud
It is very difficult to dress up someone else's child, not mine
