“Where Have All the Flowers Gone?” was written by the famed American folk musician Pete Seeger, who was known as a fervent advocate of peace during a time of excessive militarism in the world over. Originally written as a banjo ballad, it is performed here in a cappella.
lyrics
Where have all the flowers gone?
Long time passing
Where have all the flowers gone?
Long time ago
Where have all the flowers gone?
The girls have picked them, every one.
Oh, when will you ever learn?
Oh, when will you ever learn?
Where have all the young men gone?
Long time passing
Where have all the young men gone?
Long time ago
Where have all the young men gone?
They’re all in uniform.
Oh, when will you ever learn?
Oh, when will you ever learn?
Where have all the young girls gone?
Long time passing
Where have all the young girls gone?
Long time ago
Where have all the young girls gone?
They’ve taken husbands, every one.
Oh, when will you ever learn?
Oh, when will you ever learn?
